East Coast MP Anne Tolley welcomes the opening of the Tauranga Eastern Link, connecting the Eastern Bay of Plenty with the wider Bay of Plenty region and the Port of Tauranga.

“I’m delighted the Tauranga Eastern Link Road is now open, cutting 24 minutes off a return journey from Paengaroa to Te Maunga,” Mrs Tolley says.

“This is a significant piece of infrastructure for our region, making transport safer and more efficient for our businesses, industries and tourists.

“With a $455 million investment, this is the largest roading project in the Bay of Plenty and will support our region as it continues to grow.

“Our businesses, growers and farmers need efficient and safe transport options to get products and produce from the Eastern Bay of Plenty to our ports and main centres.

“This new road is exactly the boost our region needs for our economy to thrive.”
