“I was pleased with the announcement made yesterday by my colleague, the Associate Tourism Minister, Paula Bennett,” Mrs Tolley says.

East Coast MP Anne Tolley says a $12 million investment in Ultra-Fast Broadband (UFB) for Whakatane is now complete.

“Whakatane is the twentieth town in New Zealand to have their UFB build completed under the first phase of the government programme,” Mrs Tolley says.

East Coast MP Hon Anne Tolley says the Motu Bridge replacement is a step closer with the awarding of the contract to Fulton Hogan East Coast.

In January Prime Minister John Key announced the Motu Bridge, the sole one-lane bridge on State Highway 2 between Gisborne and Opotiki, will be replaced.

Heritage listed buildings in Gisborne will be able to apply for support for earthquake strengthening through the new Heritage Earthquake Upgrade Incentive Programme fund (EQUIP).
