Botany MP Jami-Lee Ross wants window washers banned.

The junior whip has drafted a Bill to stop window washing and give police the power to fine them.

He has also launched a petition asking for public support for the law change.

We received good economic news this last week.

Statistics New Zealand reported that the official unemployment rate has dropped to 5.1 per cent in the June Quarter, down from 5.5 per cent a year earlier. In Auckland our unemployment rate is 4.7 per cent – the lowest since September 2008.
