The scheme offers grants for first home buyers to help with deposits on a home, and enables first home buyers to access their KiwiSaver funds.

East Coast MP Hon Anne Tolley says the Motu Bridge replacement is a step closer with the awarding of the contract to Fulton Hogan East Coast.

In January Prime Minister John Key announced the Motu Bridge, the sole one-lane bridge on State Highway 2 between Gisborne and Opotiki, will be replaced.

The East Coast’s mobile reception has received a welcome expansion, thanks to a new cell tower Waihau Bay, local MP Anne Tolley says.

Spark and Vodafone, who won the auction of the 700 MHz band of radio spectrum in 2014, are required to build new towers in rural areas in the first five years following the purchase.
